It's a usual Veg Restaurant with all of the bells and whistles. I had a Ghee Roast from there and while I don't like the whole Food Court card payment thingy, the Ghee Roast was good. It was Ghee-y (I know it's not a real word), the size was typical of what you get outside and the Sambar and the chutneys were also OK. Recommended for a quick bite and don't forget to keep the Food Court card with ya! #GheeRoast #QuickBite
So we found this place (a branch of Chennai’s popular chain) in brookefields malls food court and decided to order few staples that we have come to love!
Pongal @ Rs 55/- this is a superlative dish which looks and tastes like rava upma but is actually made from moong dal and rice and has generous amount of roasted cashews, veggies and the whole doze of South Indian tadka all prep in ghee. It is served with white nariyal chutney and sambhar. It is a complete meal in itself with quantity just right.
Paneer masala dosa @ Rs 88/-
It has been on my agenda to try the variety of dosas with all kinds of fusion. We tried this home style prepped paneer onion bhurjee sitting inside that super crisp Dosa with 3 glorious kinds of chutneys.
Over last week I have come to love all the chutneys that are prepared in tamilnadu especially the tomato chutney and the mint and onion chutney, brilliant evolutionary preps which sometimes surpasses the main dishes.
During lunch hrs shree anandhaas had the max rush. They had some wonderful thali options. One peculiar thing in the food court was the thali options were displayed by all the restaurants. We ordered for a mini and south Indian thali. Both hardly had 1-2 items in common. Mini thali had a chapati curry 3 varieties of rice sweet and pickle. South Indian thali had plain rice papad 2 curries Dall sambar rasam pickle 2 chutneys raita and a sweet.
Taste of both the thali was good. Though the quality of rice is a bit different from what we get in Hyd. The combination was also good. The above items were sufficient for 2 ppl. And pricing was very reasonable considering the qty and also the fact that it is situated in the mall.
