Taste nicely cooked roasted chicken, paneer and fried prawns at this restaurant when you happen to be near it. Degust delicious beer. The positive aspect of Shetty Lunch Home ESTD. 1956 is that the staff is competent. Terrific service is something guests agree upon here. Based on the guests' opinions, prices are good. The food tastes good, but everything is definitely on the expensive side. For example, a full plate of Chicken Ghee Roast costs ₹800 — and that’s for just 10 regular pieces. They don’t offer half portions, so you're left with no choice but to go for the full plate. Tried the soup as well, but it wasn’t impressive. The Mushroom Ghee Roast was ₹370, and the portion size was quite small for that price. The restaurant has both AC and non-AC sections. Interestingly, the same Chicken Ghee Roast costs ₹700 in the non-AC area — ₹100 less. But the catch is, the non-AC section feels more like a bar and isn’t ideal if you're with family, so again, you’re kind of pushed into choosing the pricier AC section. I've attached the menu for reference — be wise with your visit and decide accordingly. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₹400–600 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

If you’re a food lover then ghee roast should be in your bucket list and what’s better than having it in the place where it’s invented. I got the opportunity to try this at the legendary Shetty lunch home in Kundapura. There was not much crowd when we went there for lunch and we got the table easily. We ordered the OG chicken ghee roast and prawns ghee roast. We also ordered the paneer and mushroom ghee roast for our vegetarian friends and ordered the neer dosa for all of us. We couldn’t get the maggige dosa that day. It took sometime to get the food. But when we got it, we were blown away by the taste of it and realized why it has so much of craze. The gravy is literally cooked in 10% ghee and the aroma was fantastic. Chicken dish was too much in quantity and it would easily serve 3-4 people, but apart from that other three dishes were less in quantity. I didn’t like the prawns as much as chicken because the prawns were too big in size and didn’t have too much of flavor in themselves. All the taste was coming just from the gravy. My veg friends said both the paneer and mushroom ghee roast are good. We also ordered their famous Kane masala fry but disappointed with its taste. They serve alcohol as well. Service is slow since they cook the dishes in ghee roast after we place the order. Overall, we were really happy with the food here. We spent Rs.4,000 for four of us.
