The only thing that disappoints when you come to Shell - Thergaon is the knowledgeable staff. Many guests highlight that the service is prompt. But google users haven't given this place a high rating.

I rarely write reviews like this, but my recent experience at this petrol pump was so disappointing that I feel compelled to warn other customers. Rude behaviour: Right from the moment I pulled in, the staff greeted me with indifference and a closed-off attitude. Rather than a simple acknowledgment or asking how they could help, one attendant simply grunted “go ahead” and pointed vaguely to a pump. When I asked which payment methods were accepted, I was met not with courtesy or clarity, but with an abrupt response and eye-rolling. Later, when I went inside to pay and ask for a receipt, the cashier was curt and visibly annoyed that I bothered him. I’ve never felt so unwelcome when filling up my bike. Arrogant staff trying to argue: What made things worse was that when I pointed out a minor issue (the display on the pump seemed stuck and was not updating properly), instead of acknowledging it or apologising, the attendant argued with me. He insisted “nothing is wrong” and that I must be mis-reading it. When I asked politely for a recalibration or at least to switch the pump, he huffed and said, “Fine, you can use another one, I don’t care,” as though I was inconveniencing him by being a paying customer. His tone was arrogant, dismissive and unprofessional. Non-cooperative behaviour / don’t follow rules and selectively follow rules: To top it off, it became obvious that staff were selectively enforcing rules. For example, one person ahead of me was permitted to fill up without switching off their mobile phone or turning off the engine fully (which is a posted rule), while when I politely asked about that rule they said, “It’s okay this time.” But then when I asked for the same leniency, the answer was rigid: “We enforce rules here.” It felt like the staff applied rules arbitrarily depending on who they liked or how they felt. When I asked for the receipt (another rule) I was told it was “not available right now” while I saw other customers ahead getting it. No explanation. In short: the rules are ambiguous and selectively applied, which makes the whole experience unpredictable and stressful. Other issues: • The pump area was messy: there was visible spillage and the floor was slippery, yet no signage or cleaning effort in sight. • The staff didn’t check the vehicle number properly or confirm the fuel type clearly, which caused me to worry about mis-fueling. • Payment processing was slow and disorganised: I waited significantly longer than usual because the attendant apparently “didn’t know” how to switch the POS machine into digital wallet mode. • When I asked for a “nozzle check” (to ensure the pump had shut off properly and no extra fuel was being drawn) the attendant simply ignored me and walked away. Final comment: I believe a petrol pump should be about efficient, courteous service, safety and consistency. This outlet failed significantly on all counts: the staff were rude, defensive, uncooperative and seemed to believe they were doing me a favour rather than providing a service. The arbitrary enforcement of rules makes me question how seriously safety and fairness are taken here. Until they train their team in basic customer-care, rule-adherence and safety, I cannot recommend this place. I’ll be going elsewhere next time. If you’re a motorist who values friendly service, prompt help, proper safety checks and staff who respect you as a paying customer — you might want to avoid this outlet, at least until things improve.
