Near-Disaster at Shell Kasvanahalli – Untrained Staff Almost Ruined My Car Visited this pump yesterday(Nov 6, 2025) and had the most alarming experience. My car has a separate DEF (AdBlue) inlet next to the diesel cap. The attendant, clearly lacking even basic training, grabbed the diesel nozzle and was about to shove it into the DEF tank. For anyone unaware: putting diesel in the DEF system can destroy the SCR catalyst, trigger limp mode, and cost ₹1–2 lakh+ in repairs. This wasn’t a simple mix-up—the kid didn’t even glance at the clearly marked blue DEF cap. I had to physically stop her seconds before she started pumping. No apology, just a blank stare. When I pointed out the mistake, the staff shrugged and walked away. • Zero staff training • Risk of catastrophic damage to customer property • Zero accountability Advice to management: Train your staff properly. Lucky for both of us, I caught it in time. Avoid this station if you drive a BS6 diesel with AdBlue. Not worth the risk.
