If there’s a heaven for tea lovers and snack aficionados, Sharma Tea is the entrance gate! Their kachoris are a crispy, golden delight—so perfect they could make your dadi ditch homemade ones. The samosas? Piping hot pockets of bliss with just the right amount of spice to keep you hooked. And the dhoklas? So soft and fluffy, they might just float off your plate! Now, let’s talk about the showstopper — thandai during Holi! One sip, and it’s an explosion of saffron, almonds, and nostalgia. Sure, the prices might make your wallet flinch, but the flavors will make your taste buds dance the bhangra. Worth it? Every. Single. Rupee. Verdict: If indulgence had an address, Sharma Tea would be on speed dial. Don’t think, just eat!

Disappointing Experience at Sharma Tea Shop, Salt Lake I recently visited the famous Sharma Tea Shop in Salt Lake, Kolkata, on a Sunday morning, expecting a delightful breakfast experience. However, my visit turned out to be quite disappointing. The shop was extremely crowded, which is understandable given its popularity, but it took me 10-15 minutes just to place my order. I ordered 2 pieces of onion kachori, 4 pieces of club kachori, and a tea. The total cost was ₹150, which felt overpriced as the same items are generally available for ₹60-70 at most places in Kolkata. Once I got my order, the real disappointment began. The food did not live up to the hype at all. The sabzi served with the club kachoris was utterly tasteless, lacking even basic seasoning like salt. It was bland and uninspiring. The kachoris themselves were below average in both flavor and texture. Even the tea, which is supposed to be their specialty, was mediocre at best. Overall, the food was far from worth the price, and the experience left me unsatisfied. To make matters worse, this unpleasant meal ruined my morning, and I had to visit another place afterward to actually enjoy some decent food. I had high hopes for Sharma Tea Shop based on its reputation, but the quality and taste of the food left much to be desired. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this place, especially considering the many better and more reasonably priced options available in Kolkata.
