This restaurant and Coin Museum Corp Bank can be both really attractive for tourists. Chinese and Vegetarian cuisines are served at Shanthi Sagar. But this place is not highly estimated by Google users who provided it a below average rating.
Good food at fair prices with warm service, just needs a little better upkeep! The food here was quite nice, though the overall maintenance of the place could be better. We chose the AC section, but it had a slightly odd smell which was a bit off-putting. That said, the service made up for it…servers were very kind, attentive, and quick. As for the food, the ghee masala dosa was absolutely delicious and definitely the highlight of our meal. The tomato soup, however, wasn’t great as it had an overpowering elaichi flavour. The gobi manchurian was tasty and well-prepared, while the curd rice stood out. It was light, refreshing, and paired perfectly with the tangy mixed vegetable pickle. Overall, the food was enjoyable at a reasonable price, with excellent service. If the cleanliness and ambience are improved, this place could be even better. I recently dined at Shanthi Sagar in Udupi, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. We ordered a variety of dishes, including Gobi Manchurian, ghee rice, one porotta, masala dosa, puri kuruma, and falooda, along with tea and coffee. The food was flavorful and satisfying, with each dish bringing something special to the table. While the waiter who served us was not particularly attentive, the rest of the staff had a good attitude and were quite helpful. Their friendliness contributed positively to the dining experience. If you’re in Udupi and looking for a solid meal, I would recommend giving Shanthi Sagar a try!
