We had a nice lunch at Shalas yesterday, and I must say that it is a lovely blend of north Indian and coastal cuisine, along with a few Arabian specialties. A specially designed multi-cuisine menu makes this restaurant a truly multi-cuisine destination. Known for its great ambiance, the restaurant has often been praised for its elegant, well-decorated atmosphere that is ideally suited to family dining experiences or relaxing evenings spent with friends and family. I think it is safe to say that the restaurant really shines in its seafood preparations, including the Prawns Ghee Roast and Fish Tawa Masala dishes that are highly recommended. Throughout the dining experience, the staff was very attentive and prompt, which enhanced a memorable dining experience. While I am not a big fan of some of the standard North Indian curries, Shalas is definitely worth a visit if you are craving some authentic Mangalorean coastal flavors and want to experience a great non-vegetarian spread in a lovely setting. Overall, the place is a popular choice for seafood lovers and those who are looking for a variety of dishes that are well prepared from regional and international cuisine. I was amazed after seeing this eating joint and lot of expectation. I took take away two dishes 1) Butter Chicken Garlic (It was reasonably good) and chicken lollypop (which was fried extensively and it turned into black and not even tasted good. Not worth what they charged. Kindly request concerned, management person to look into this and rectify this.
