Selvi Mess, located in Salem, is a must-visit establishment for those who crave authentic Tamil Nadu-style non-vegetarian cuisine. The place is always bustling with customers during peak hours, but the staff manages to keep things under control. The ambiance is simple but inviting, and the interior design is traditional. Prices are on the higher side, but the quality of food justifies the cost.

One of the restaurant's standout dishes is the Chicken Biryani, which is cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The Mutton Biryani is also a must-try for meat lovers. The Kothu Parotta, a popular street food in Tamil Nadu, is another favorite among patrons. For those looking for something spicy, the Chilly Chicken is a great option.

Selvi Mess also offers a variety of soft drinks and juices to accompany your meal. The Goli Soda, a carbonated lemon-lime drink, is a refreshing choice. Wine and cocktails are not available at this eatery, but the quality of the food more than makes up for it.

Overall, Selvi Mess is a fine dining spot that serves up some of the best non-vegetarian food in Salem. The establishment's authentic Tamil Nadu-style cuisine and vibrant atmosphere make it a must-visit for anyone in the area.

Visited Selvi mess for both lunch and dinner. Lunch - Not a big fan of their meals spread. The chicken and mutton gravies were good but their fish gravy was a let down. Tasted more like a vegetarian gravy. The chicken 65 was the only side that I liked. Even their famous mutton chukka tasted just ok. Dinner - this was delicious. They nailed their parottas, soft yet crispy that paired well with their gravies. The mutton kari dosa is a must try, filled with minced meat and crisped with gingelly oil. Kaadai fry was so good. Overall loved their dinner menu. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₹200–400 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Vegetarian offerings: Vegetarian menu or section

Im not sure if I am the right person to comment or review this place as I did not try the non veg dishes personally but my friends did.. and their opinion was that the place is not worth the hype , food is decent, could be tried if you are in selam town for some work.. unlike us who took a detour from highway just to check it out. I ordered chicken biryani here, but honestly, it tasted more like plain tomato rice. The price was way too high for what they served, and it didn’t feel worth it at all. If you’re thinking of visiting, save your money — this place is just disappointing.
