I would give more stars if I could. I usually don't write reviews, but Thomas deserves to get more credit. I highly recommend going here for dinner, it's a whole experience. Thomas goes fishing in the morning and prepares whatever he catches in the evening for his customers. So there's no menue - there's the fresh catch of the day. He'll show you what he got in the morning and you can choose. Then he'll prepare it on the spot. And he really knows how to prepare fish and seafood. We went twice for dinner, I had shrimps the first time and fish the second, with rice. It was amazing. The place is rather small and simple. Thomas is very attentive and a very humble person. He told us he's doing this for around 26 years now. We enjoyed talking to him and he really made us feel welcome. It's very relaxed and homely atmosphere. If you choose to go there (and you should), look out for the small stairs to enter the room which is in the first floor. They are easy to miss. Enjoy the the food! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Had a very nice experience here. The owner was extremely kind and showed us all of the freshly caught fish when we arrived so we could choose what to order. The food itself was incredible, easily the best seafood I have tried in India. The owner told us he has run this restaurant for 26 years and that experience is evident in the quality of the food. The price was also very good, for two people it was only 550 rupees total (2 meals, water and 1 extra fish). I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Mahabalipuram. For the first time we 6 members stayed in the hotel below the sealord restaurant. The restaurant located in first floor along the main road. The ambience is simple but beautiful. The owner of this restaurant is very helpful, kind and a friendly man. He got accustomed with us very soon... He used to make special tea for all of us for which he didn't charge anything. He let us use his kitchen and prepare veg items. We felt soo homely there because of him. He also arranged veg dishes for us from nearby. He himself is a good cook. I would like to give 100 stars for his homely nature and welcoming behavior. Everytime, I go Mahabalipuram, I visit him and he make us special tea. Happy to meet such a nice person.
