I went there for just a casual dinner..While I was searching on Google regarding candle light dinner options in Kolkata,this place was suggested to me..I randomly booked a slot (8-10pm) and ordered the basic 699 menu for two that contains either two chicken biryani or two noodles..The place was quite small in area but they decorated it nicely..Pre booking is needed as the room contains three different seating arrangements..If you want to enjoy only with your special one,you need to pre book the table..The food was much good in taste..I loved the biryani..You can also order other dishes from their menu chart but for that,you need to pay the extra charge of the dish..Their telephonic service was quite good as I didn't face any problem while booking and everything was done so promptly..But their restaurant service needs to be upgraded more..I would like to advise the owner to maintain the property well and do some better decorations as this place has all the potentialities to become a cheap yet good candle light dinner restaurant of Kolkata..Thank you.. I’m writing this with so much disappointment and frustration. It was my first visit to Kolkata, and my boyfriend planned a special lunch for us at Coffee 'n' Candles, hoping to make it memorable. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst experiences ever. We asked them about their couple lunch, and they said it costs ₹699. That’s fine — but they didn’t show us any menu, package chart, or give us any details. We waited for more than 45 minutes, and finally, they served us only two plates of biryani, that too without asking what we’d prefer. The biryani was completely unappetizing . We didn’t even want to eat it. When we told them this, instead of helping, they rudely said we’d have to pay ₹500 even if we don’t eat. I was shocked. It felt like they were just forcing food down our throats with no care for the customer. A small argument even broke out because of this behavior. I felt embarrassed, frustrated, and sad — the entire vibe of our first date in Kolkata got ruined. After we left, we got to know from locals that this place orders biryani and other items from cheap local restaurants and serves them at high prices just because of the ambience. Honestly, what’s the point of candles and decorations if your food and behavior are so poor?Never visiting again. Please avoid this place if you care about your time, money, or mood. (No option to upload any screen shot to proof the incorrect statement as proof, hence replying)Sorry to say, Everything you or your boyfriend, has mentioned was wrong and incorrect. As our basic process we have to share the pacakge chart with all details, sample photo and food items to each and every guest, as we have multiple Pacakges. Guest go through all the pacakge details and decide which package they want to book. (WE HAVE ALL PROOF) Whoever book the package, they EVEN has to fill up a form with food preferrence, your boyfriend has done the same too and we served the food accordingly. Please come and see for proof, we will share all communication details, which can prove the version of your boyfriend in incorrect. Is it possible to beleive that the restaurant has said, if you don't eat, you have to pay extra 500? It's sound like a joke, sorry to say. Yes, we have our own food partner and again which was also mentioned during pacakge booking (though not cheap). Please request and advice your boyfriend to go though each details before booking any product or service.Regarding food taste, i understand everyone has a different taste preference.We thank you for your feedback.
