Sayana Restaurant in Pampady has always been one of the most iconic spots in my hometown. It's a small, humble, family-run establishment that has been around since my childhood — and over the years, it has built a loyal following for all the right reasons. The place is especially famous for its authentic Kerala dishes like parotta, beef curry, beef fry, and chicken curry. If you're craving traditional Kerala flavors, this is definitely a go-to. The food has always felt homely and rich with flavor, something that many locals and visitors alike appreciate. One of the things I admire most about Sayana is its consistency in crowd — it’s always busy from noon until around 6 or 7:30 PM. That’s partly because they close early, not due to timing, but because most of their dishes get sold out fast — a true reflection of their popularity in the area. That said, I do feel there’s been a slight dip in food quality over the years. Nothing drastic — but just a minor difference that long-time customers like me can notice. We ordered beef fry recently, and it didn’t quite hit the high standard we’ve come to expect based on past experiences. It was still decent, just not as flavorful or well-balanced as it used to be. Still, Sayana remains close to my heart — for the memories, the food, and the warm, familiar vibe. I truly hope they continue to maintain their legacy while focusing a bit more on keeping the original quality intact. Highly recommended if you're in or around Pampady and want a taste of real Kerala food.
