Overhyped and Overpriced – Extremely Disappointed with Saptapadi Restaurant, Gariahat I recently visited Saptapadi Restaurant in Gariahat with my parents after hearing a lot of hype about it — but the experience turned out to be extremely disappointing. The restaurant seems to survive only on its name and decoration, not on the quality of its food or service. Food Quality & Taste: The food quality is very poor. Many items were not cooked properly, and even the cooked ones had no proper taste. The food felt stale and carelessly prepared. For the kind of prices they charge, the food was far from satisfactory. It’s honestly overpriced compared to what they serve. Service & Management: The service was horrible. The staff didn’t seem attentive at all. Even the manager, wearing a tie and blazer, was busy cleaning tables just to prepare for the next batch of customers — rather than checking on the guests who were already dining. It felt like they only care about crowd management, not customer satisfaction. Hygiene Concerns: Cleanliness and hygiene are major issues here. The spoons were not washed properly, and to our shock, they served Rasgulla in the same plate used for salad. Even worse, they gave only one spoon for five people to share the dessert — and that too wasn’t clean. That’s completely unhygienic and unacceptable for any restaurant. Ambience & Value for Money: Yes, the decoration and interior are nice, but what’s the point of good décor when the food and service are the worst parts? The place looks fancy but fails miserably where it matters most — the dining experience. Final Verdict: Saptapadi is just hyped and overpriced. Except for the Rajbhog, which they clearly bring from outside, nothing was worth it. Even my parents said that there was nothing good about this restaurant. Overall, this place needs a serious improvement in food taste, hygiene, and service standards. Until then, I’d strongly suggest people avoid wasting their money here just for the name or ambiance. The food was quite good. However, the service was disappointing. It took them a long time to serve our order, and they even forgot to bring the ghonto until we reminded them. On top of that, they didn’t serve regular water, which was inconvenient. Overall, tasty food but very poor service — needs serious improvement.

Overhyped! I had a very disappointing experience at Saptapadi restaurant. The food was poorly cooked and far below expectations — some items were undercooked, while others tasted stale. The buffet was overpriced and filled with unwanted dishes that didn’t match the menu. The service was slow and careless, with staff showing little interest in helping customers.
