I being a south indian food fan tried to check out this restaurant after all the hype created about it on Instagram. I realised that the hype was all worthless the moment we entered the restaurant. Here are my observations : Pros: 1. Food was good. I liked Sambhar and Pineapple halwa. Dosas were also good but nothing special, so don't go with the 'out of the world's expectations. 2. Quality of food is very good. Cons: 1. Service is very slow 2. No ambience 3. Overhyped & costly 4. Kokam sharbat and rose milk which is not even half a glass (in small bottles) is being sold at 179 bucks. 5. Seating space is less. 6. Benne Dosa has been overhyped. It is good but can't match Bangalore Benne Dosa in taste and essence. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₹800–1,000 Food: 4 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3

Hello Pooja, Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the sambhar, pineapple halwa, and dosas — and that you appreciated the quality of our food. We also acknowledge your concerns. Our aim is to offer an authentic South Indian dining experience rooted in traditional preparation and heritage recipes, which can sometimes differ from the more commercial or modern adaptations. Our beverages are made in-house with premium ingredients and no preservatives, which may reflect in both the portion size and pricing. We truly appreciate your visit and hope you might give us another opportunity in the future — we’re always striving to get better.

The food is good, but it is all about the homely service. We were gently reminded of many things about South Indian culture by our captain, Mr Babloo Rana (dude deserves a raise). Overall, a fantastic place to relive your South Indian heritage. Price per person: ₹400–600 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Hello Vishal, Thank you so much for this beautiful review! We're so happy the food and service brought back memories of South Indian heritage — that’s exactly what Santosham hopes to offer. A special thanks from our side to Mr. Bablu Rana too — we’re lucky to have him on the team, and your kind words truly mean a lot. Looking forward to welcoming you back soon!

Just visited newly opened Santosham at Marine Drive — and honestly, it lives up to the name. Pure joy on a banana leaf! I went for the Unlimited Sadhya-style Thali and it was absolutely top-class. Each item was spot on — the kind of meal that makes you quietly nod and say “mmm this is it, da.” The payasam and yellow daal were especially brilliant — proper comfort food. My wife tried the Breakfast Thali, and she found it okay-okay — maybe a 6 on 10. Nothing wrong, just not as exciting as my thali, no? Here’s how I’d break it down: Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ₹400–600 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian offerings: Menu is all vegetarian

Hello Cyrus, Thank you for such a thoughtful (and entertaining!) review — you truly captured the spirit of Santosham with “pure joy on a banana leaf” and had us all smiling with your “this is it, da” moment! We’re so glad you loved the Unlimited Sadhya-style Thali — and we really appreciate your honest feedback about the breakfast thali and service too. Just to share a little context — our team may have gently stopped the sharing since our unlimited meals follow a no-sharing policy. That said, we completely understand it was just a tasting moment, and we’ll make sure it’s handled with more warmth and ease going forward. Can’t wait to welcome you both back again — maybe for a twin Sadhya this time? Warm regards from all of us at Santosham
