I am absolutely appalled by the experience I had at The Saffron. What was supposed to be a pleasant dining experience turned into one of the most frustrating and disappointing visits I’ve ever had at any restaurant — especially one that prides itself on being a “fine” establishment. From the moment we were seated, the service was shockingly poor. We had to repeatedly request the most basic things — water, bread, even simple condiments — multiple times before anyone bothered to respond. Each time, we were made to wait over 15 minutes, as if our table was invisible. The staff seemed completely disinterested and untrained, which is unacceptable for a place of this reputation and price point. But the real low point was the behavior of the floor manager, of The Cafe, Mahesh. Not only was he unhelpful, but he was also outright rude and arrogant. When we tried to politely express our frustration, instead of resolving the issue, he began raising his voice and speaking to us in an extremely disrespectful tone. It was shocking — I have never encountered such unprofessional behavior from someone in the hospitality business. If this is how the management treats guests, it speaks volumes about the kind of “service standards” they uphold. It’s truly disgraceful that a restaurant with such a name and location could allow this level of incompetence and disrespect. What’s even more disappointing is that no one even attempted to apologize or make up for the terrible experience. Overall, The Saffron has completely lost my trust. I would strongly advise anyone considering this place to think twice — there are plenty of restaurants in the city that actually understand what hospitality means. This one clearly doesn’t.
