Location:Sapadam is conveniently located on Sachin Tendulkar Marg and easy to spot since it’s right on the main road. I decided to visit for lunch after noticing its 4+ rating online (which I now suspect might be inflated by influencer or promotional reviews).Food:This is where the disappointment began. The food served here is not authentic South Indian cuisine — it’s more of an unbalanced fusion that misses the mark. • Welcome Drink: The pepper rasam served on arrival was unfortunately undrinkable — excessively oily with a harsh peppery taste and a strong pungency that made it unpleasant. • Idli-Vada Combo (₹99): Both items were small in size; the idli was doughy, and the vada lacked crispness. • Masala Dosa: The filling was nowhere close to authentic — filled with raw tomatoes and onion bits, more like a street-style fusion dosa. • Chettinad Dosa: Extremely garlicky, and despite asking before ordering, we weren’t informed it would have that much garlic. • Rawa Dosa: The only saving grace — this one tasted good and felt authentic. • Sambar & Chutneys: The sambar lacked tanginess and the traditional spice depth (no hint of gunpowder or tamarind). It tasted more like a plain vegetable stew. Chutneys were average at best.Ambience:Nicely done interiors — clean, calm, and peaceful. A good place if you’re coming with friends or family and want to chat comfortably.Service:Service was quick, and the staff were polite and attentive.Value for Money:Zero stars here. The food is overpriced for the quality and portion size. Either the pricing or the portion size needs serious reconsideration.Overall:Not recommended if you’re seeking authentic South Indian flavors. Most dishes were overly oily, poorly balanced, and lacked freshness or authenticity. The only decent item was the rawa dosa. With better quality control and true South Indian recipes, this place could have potential — but as of now, it doesn’t live up to its ratings.

I have had the pleasure of visiting Saapadam a few times, and I can certainly attest to the authenticity of their South Indian cuisine. I would like to highlight the diverse selection of dosas available on their menu. Whenever I find myself craving South Indian food, Saapadam is one of the top restaurants I consider visiting, and it is also quite budget-friendly. The restaurant's ambiance is notably clean and casual. Furthermore, the staff is exceptionally friendly. We received our order promptly, with the food arriving piping hot within approximately ten minutes.
