The food is served on a banana leaf and mud plate. The traditional Kerala way of eating. The ambience and the atmosphere is really good. Veg meals is must try!. This is THE place to go to if you want some authentic kerala food, specially Malabar style. I have had vellappam (also called aappam), puttu, with vegetable stew and kadala curry. All these items were very tasty with the original flavours from Kerala. Their fish curry meals is great too. I particularly loved the fish curry. I had taken fish fry and mussels fry as extra which were very tasty with just the right amount of spice that doesn't mask the flavour of the fish. I had also taken chicken biriyani as takeaway. It does full justice to the malabari style of dum biriyani. Lovely! On the whole, Shiji's cuisine gave me a great delightful experience with tasty food, cordial and responsible service., nice ambience. A peek into the kitchen area revealed a very hygienic kitchen and wash area. Great by all means!
