I recently visited SDR Restaurant and Cafe with high expectations, considering the buzz around it. Unfortunately, while the experience had some positives, it ultimately left much to be desired — especially when it came to the food. Ambiance: Good The ambiance is pleasant and well thought out. It’s a clean, comfortable space suitable for both casual outings and small gatherings. Service: Good The service was prompt and efficient. Orders were taken without delay, and food was served in a reasonable amount of time. Staff Behavior: Excellent The staff were polite, professional, and accommodating — one of the highlights of the visit. Food Quality: Disappointing This was the most underwhelming part. We ordered chappathi, parota, chicken, prawn, fish, and biryani, and sadly, nothing tasted fresh or flavorful. The dishes lacked seasoning, the seafood didn’t seem fresh, and even the basics like parota were subpar. The biryani, which is often a benchmark for any restaurant in this region, was particularly bland and dry. Overall Experience: Overhyped SDR Restaurant and Cafe seems to thrive more on hype than actual quality. While the environment and service were commendable, the core aspect — food — failed to meet even basic expectations. Final Verdict: If you’re someone who prioritizes food quality, this place might not live up to the reputation it seems to carry.
