Very great choice of delicious healthy Ayurvedic food, freshly prepared from local ingredients, amazing variety of very tasty dosas, accommodating every taste and food restrictions, there are even gluten-free and vegan options, very well structured Panchakarma diet menu, including kichri, dal, rice porridges, zeera kashaya etc. There is also fresh fruits section, where you can get local fruits, served very lovely, and freshly pressed juices. The cooks are always there for you to prepare food according to your particular nutritional restrictions and requirements and the staff is very caring and friendly. The canteen manager takes care of each customer with lots of love and patience. Canteen is very cozy and has beautiful serene atmosphere, especially during early mornings and evenings time, when you can enjoy the sounds of healing mantras and holy scents while having delicious healthy food there. Can highly recommend visiting this place. Vegetarian options: The whole menu is vegetarian, containing healthy protein sources, such as mung dal, urad dal, channa dal, healthy fats, derived from local coconuts, ghee and other oils. Great choice of vegetable dishes and delicious sambar. There is also fresh fruits stall serving local fruits and juices. Dietary restrictions: There is very good choice of both vegan and gluten-free meals and the cooks are always there ready to prepare the meal according to customers particular nutritional requirements. Super yummy food, and not too spicy which is a welcome relief. Staff and management is very caring and accommodating, and the place is kept in a absolutely trustful way. You get a great value for the price. Healthy meals with nicely fresh vegetables. Very delicious chutney. A place which definitely makes you feel at home! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We really enjoyed tasty meals in the canteen and the cooks changed the ingredients according to our dietary requirements. The staff is very friendly and canteen is tidy and very well maintained. Prices are quite cheap compared to other restaurants in Udupi and the quality is much better, because you don’t have to wait much and the meals contain lots of vegetables, sambar is really full of vegetables, which you don’t get in other places! The idlis, dosas, talis and all other items we have tried were all very delicious! I really loved coconut chutney there and sambar! Coconut chutney is very special in SDM canteen and not too spicy, just perfect! The canteen manager always took care of us, he is very sweet and lovely person! The atmosphere is very relaxing with beautiful mantras playing in background Thank you so much and we hope to come back again soon!
