I had ordered the Mutton Biryani after hearing positive reviews, but the food turned out to be a stark contrast to the reviews—utterly disappointing. Firstly, there were very few pieces of mutton, and half of them were just bones with no meat. The rest were undercooked, rubbery, and almost entirely inedible. While the rice was long and slender, it was drenched in oil. The entire biryani delivered was simply a large quantity of flavored rice with an equally large quantity of oil This was a very disappointing experience, and I would recommend avoiding this place, especially given the many better options available in Hyderabad. We had mutton biryani today at this place and it was truly a satisfying experience. The biryani was rich in flavor with perfectly balanced spices. The aroma of basmati rice, saffron, and ghee was inviting. Every bite had that authentic dum-style taste, and the masala was well-blended. The mutton pieces were tender, juicy, and well-cooked. No toughness or dryness—each piece was infused with flavor and cooked just right, falling off the bone. The rice was fluffy, not sticky, and layered beautifully with the masala. Each grain was separate and cooked to perfection—neither undercooked nor overdone. Moderate to slightly spicy—enough to tingle the taste buds without overwhelming. If you enjoy a good kick of spice, this one hits the spot. Unfortunately, the service left us extremely disappointed. The servers were unprofessional and inattentive. The tables were covered with dirty, stained table cloths. There were flies hovering around the tables. The management seriously needs to pay attention towards the cleaning and pest control. Pathar ka Gosht - Rs.375/- Awadhi Boti Kebab - Rs. 375/- Juje (Joojeh) Kebab - Rs.334/- Kakori Kebab - Rs.375/- Gosht Yakhni Shorba - Rs.169/- Rumali Roti - Rs.35/- Sarvi Food Court, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad Located opposite to Care Hospital Cuisines served : Nizami, Awadhi, Irani (Persian) & Chinese $$$$$ 20.06.25 Hyderabad is not all about Biryani. On this Food Tour I discovered that Hyderabad also offers a wide variety of kebabs as well. So after the boat ride on the Hussain Sagar Lake, me, @hep.forever & @thesamcam84 decided to check out @sarvi_bakersnrestaurants in Banjara Hills, a prominent 37 years old restaurant just to try out a few of the kebabs they have to offer. We reached at 2pm & there was already a long que. It took us almost half an hour to get a table. Some groups were even happy with sharing tables. The que along with the awards displayed on the wall definitely tells that this is a place one needs to dine in. As we entered inside, I suggested that we try out the kebabs & everyone was happy with this decision. Infact @khi_asylrym had gotten me a Hyderabadi Mutton Biryani last night at 11pm from Shah Ghouse & it sure was spicy. Anyway my main intention to eat here was to try out the Shikhampuri Kebab, Pathar ka Gosht, Boti Kebab & Marag Soup. But I didn't see Marag soup on the menu & today being a Friday the Shikhampuri Kebab got over early as plenty of people ordered after coming back from Namaz. So we ended ordering a Gosth Yakhni Shorba, Pathar ka Gosht, Awadhi Boti Kebab along with Rumali roti. Later @thesamcam84 ordered a plate of Kakori Kebabs but I was too full to try them so I'm not reviewing them. Here is my review of the Kebabs at Sarvi Food Court: Ambience - 4.4 The place is divided into 3 sections, with the tea & snacks section & takeaway section on the ground floor & the restaurant at the 2nd floor. The restaurant was far from being a Food Court. It actually was a proper dine in restaurant with a nice ambience. Only the tapestry did looked like it was showing its age. Service - 4.7 Service was excellent despite the fact that there was still a long que even after 1 hour of us getting a table. The people waiting at our tables were mostly from Bengal & were quick & on their toes their entire time. Quantity - 4.8 We may have ordered too much but even so the quantity was huge for a single person. Quality - 4.9 The quality was top notch right from the ingredients used to the method of preparation. No wonder the huge rush. Taste: Pathar ka Gosht - 4.8 This is a Nizami dish which is around 200 years old & a favourite of one of the Nizams who loved hunting but when his cook forgot to bring the skewers decided to pound the meat & then cook it on a hot slab of granite. This is an authentic Hyderabadi dish & it did not disappoint. I was expecting it to be thready but it was not. It was soft but not melt in your mouth soft & the masalas were deeply entrenched in the meat. The balance of flavors were exceptional & each bite was heavenly. Juje Kebab-4.4 This is basically an Indianized version of the popular Irani (Persian) Joojeh chicken kebab. This was a very subtle taste with the most prominent flavor being of the saffron. The chicken was also soft, tender & melt in your mouth but compared to the mutton kebabs on the table, they were kind of boring to me. Gosht Yakhni Shorba - 5.0 To my surprise this was the best dish that I had. It was a light Shorba (soup) & had subtle flavors but very aromatic. It tasted like a good Yakhni Pulao. It had small half inch cubes of mutton pieces as well. I don't like soup much but this was something that I really loved. Rumali Roti - 4.5 No complaints on the Rumali Roti. Got the job done pretty well. Price - 4.4 Considering the price & the flavors they were very well matched. Overall-4.67/5.0 Another hit in Hyderabad. I am so happy that I got to experience such wonderful dishes. This was an amazing meal that took us 2 hours to complete. But I almost fainted when I heard a table order Chilly Chicken.
