I recently visited Sangai Hotel in Kakching, drawn by its reputation and the promise of a pleasant dining experience. The hotel itself is indeed a gem in terms of cleanliness and ambiance. The interiors are well-maintained, providing a comfortable and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel at home the moment you step in. However, my dining experience left much to be desired, particularly when it came to the food. I ordered the fried chicken and fried fish, expecting a fresh and flavourful meal. Unfortunately, both dishes were quite disappointing. It was evident that the chicken and fish were not freshly prepared. They tasted more than a day old and had been fried multiple times, resulting in a dry and unappetizing texture. The flavours were bland and lacked the zest one would expect from such dishes. Despite the pleasant surroundings and friendly staff, the quality of the food is a critical aspect that needs significant improvement. Freshness is key to good taste, and this was clearly missing in the fried items I sampled. I hope the management takes note of this and ensures that all dishes are served fresh to maintain the hotel's reputation. In summary, Sangai Hotel excels in cleanliness and ambiance but falls short on food quality. A little attention to the freshness and preparation of their dishes could go a long way in elevating the overall dining experience.
