Situated on the Pune-Lavasa road, near Mulshi village, Rudra Garden Restaurant & Permit Bar came to the rescue for our hungry stomachs...We, a group of 9, looking for a family restaurant & bar on the Pune-Lavasa road, happened to find this place on Google Maps..We were a little disappointed to find out that the marked location wasn't perfect..We decided to move on, when suddenly after a few 1.5-2 kms, we spotted the place..
Got a very warm Welcome from the staff, headed by their Captain, Mr. Upadhyay..
We were delighted to see that the restaurant area was huge..They have options for Garden seating outside & inside the building they have their normal bout..A few staff members gathered so that they could arrange the long table seating which they had especially for groups like ours..Though the table was a little low, it was comfortable enough to eat on..
Ordered for a few Beers, a Quarter of Whiskey & Smirnoff each with their respective & compatible soft drinks..They also allowed us to carry our own booze inside..To start on with the drinks, they provided a few plates of peanuts..
We also ordered a few Masala Papads with some delicious pudina chutney..The Masala literally covered the full Papad..!!
For Starters, since we were hungry, we ordered Gobi Manchurians for all the veggies & Chicken Lollypop, Chicken Tandoori & a Surmai Fry for the Nonveg eaters...The service was quick..
GOBI MANCHURIAN (4/5)- Tasted very nice..They were fried until crispy & later tossed in spicy schezwan sauce & garnished with a few spring onions & long strands of white cabbage..Amazing taste!
CHICKEN LOLLYPOP (4/5):- Deep fried with a medium spicy coating..Tasted good! The Schezwan Sauce was brilliant to taste as always..
CHICKEN TANDOORI (5/5): Loved it..! Cut into 4 pieces on request, the masala applied was perfect & the Chicken was skewered to perfection! MUST-TRY!
SURMAI FRY (5/5):- Well, at first we weren't sure to order any Seafood in such a place..The cause being most restaurants on the Highway don't serve fresh seafood..But Mr. Upadhyay insisted that we try it..To our surprise, it turned out to be the best of all the starters..! Served hot & Crispy, the marination was good enough to put behind a few famous Mumbai restaurants..MUST-TRY!
In the Main Course, we tried Chicken Kadai with Tambda Rassa (Red Curry) & Chicken Handi with Tambda Rassa with a few piping hot Tandoori Rotis..The veggie people ordered Veg Rudra Special Gravy & Veg. Chilly Milly with Rice & Dal Tadka..
CHICKEN KADAI WITH TAMBDA RASSA (3.5/5): We found it to be a little too watery for our liking, since we were supposed to have a little Rice with Dal too..The Chicken pieces were big, cooked well & the gravy was good..We would have preferred Garlic Butter Nans, but they weren't available..
CHICKEN HANDI WITH TAMBDA RASSA (4.5/5): Though it was a little oily, we loved the taste..Chicken pieces were with bones..With Tandoori Rotis the gravy felt tasty! MUST-TRY!
DAL TADKA WITH JEERA RICE (4.5/5): Brilliant! The Tadka gave the Dal a sort of garlic essence which was amazing..! Irresistible!
The overall experience was good..! We moved on with our trip to Lavasa, satisfied (Even our tummies..!)..
A Special Thanks to Mr. Upadhyay & his team to have helped us in a friendly way..! Cheers to you guys!

Inconsistent service and food. You'll be taking a gamble if you eat here. I've been visiting this place for three years and it has really gone downhill. They started to put MSG in everything. The food isn't fresh, even the arts in the rotis had a stale taste. Don't eat here.
If ur on the way to Lavasa or mulshi, this is the only decent place to be. The place has an outdoor and indoor seating with a reasonably priced bar menu. The best part is, you can even carry your own booze and have it in here, given that you tip the waiter well. The food here is quite good and reasonably priced too. Highly recommended for those who are in search of late night dinner. The place is open till 12.
