Royal Vega, located in the luxurious ITC Grand Chola hotel in Chennai, is a fine dining establishment that specializes in vegetarian cuisine. The ambiance of the place is truly royal, as it is inspired by the palaces of India. The interior design is opulent, with silver-plated cutlery and crockery adding to the grandeur. The price range is on the higher side, but the experience is worth every penny.
The restaurant offers three set menus, each based on the culinary traditions of different regions of India. The North Indian Thali is a must-try, with dishes like Paneer Makhani, Dal Tadka, and Aloo Gobi. The South Indian Thali features delicacies like Sambar, Rasam, and Avial. The seasonal menu, Sisira Ritu, includes dishes like Palak Tikki, Gucchi in Tomato Gravy, and Jackfruit Pulao.
The bar menu includes a variety of mocktails like Virgin Mojito and Blue Lagoon, along with an impressive selection of wines. The service at Royal Vega is exceptional, with staff going out of their way to make diners feel like royalty. The establishment also offers outdoor seating for those who prefer to dine al fresco.
Overall, Royal Vega is a place where one can experience the taste of royal food while being treated like royalty. It is a great spot for special occasions or a romantic dinner.

Dining at Royal Vega was one of the best food experiences we’ve had in Chennai. The Paneer Khasa and Anardana Raita were to die for — bursting with flavours that linger long after the meal. From the first bite to the last, every dish felt like a celebration of India’s rich vegetarian heritage. The staff made us feel truly special and the regal ambience made it unforgettable. Can’t wait to go back! Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian offerings: Menu is all vegetarian

We planned our wedding anniversary dinner on 23rd Nov 2021 at Royal Vega in ITC grand chola Chennai. We chose this place especially not only because it’s a 5 star place but also to ensure well secured and safe dining place amidst covid situation. We had a very bitter experience due to the following reasons:
1. The service was extremely poor with rushed up service, unresponsive attitude (extra bottle of water took 20 mins to arrive). We were told kids between 7 and 12 will be charged half but we were charged full. We had to fight and get it corrected
2. All five of us had stomach pain, indigestion and throat irritation/pain post the dinner. My wife is having continuous (I’m writing this on 24th nov 2021) fever, cold and cough post the dinner last night.
3. The quality of the food in general was sub par. We opted for the North Indian set menu where the Dal, paneer gravy, Khadi all were very salty and spicy.
I have heard good reviews pre-covid times about this restaurant but post covid, I’m unsure if chefs changed or what happened, we had a very terrible experience. We will have to wait and watch what medical issues we will encounter in the next few days.
