Title: A Reliable North-South Fusion Spot in Malleshpalya – Good Roti, Great Holige! Rating: (4/5). I recently visited Roti Satkar in Malleshpalya (Vignana Nagar/Kaggadasapura Main Road stretch) for a meal, and here is my detailed take. If you live around Malleshpalya or Thippasandra, this place is likely on your radar for a solid vegetarian family dinner. The Vibe & Ambiance. The first thing you notice is that it’s a no-nonsense, family-style vegetarian restaurant. It’s not trying to be a fancy fine-dining cafe; it’s clean, functional, and decent. The seating is comfortable enough for families, though it can get a bit noisy during peak weekend dinner hours. It feels like a classic "Udupi-meets-North Indian" setup. The Food. As the name suggests, the Rotis are the main draw here. * Breads: We ordered the Butter Kulchas and Tandoori Rotis. They were fresh, soft, and didn't turn rubbery even after cooling down a bit—huge plus. * North Indian Curries: We tried the Paneer Butter Masala and Veg Kolhapuri. The Paneer was surprisingly soft, and the gravy had that rich, creamy texture without being overwhelmingly sweet (a common problem in Bangalore veg restaurants). The Kolhapuri had a decent spice kick but wasn't "tears-in-your-eyes" spicy. * The Star of the Show (Holige): Do not leave without trying their Holige (Obbattu). They have a live counter for it sometimes, and the Pineapple Holige or the classic Dal Holige served hot with a generous pour of ghee is an absolute winner. It melts in your mouth. * South Indian: Their Dosas are decent, but I feel their strength really lies in the North Indian lunch/dinner spread and the sweets. ‍ Service. The service is a mixed bag. The staff is polite, but they often seem understaffed during rush hours. We had to wave a couple of times to get water refilled. However, the food arrived relatively quickly once the order was placed, so no major complaints there. Value for Money. This is where Roti Satkar wins. The pricing is very reasonable for the quantity and quality you get. A meal for two will likely cost you between ₹400-₹600 depending on how much you order, which is great for this area. Parking. Malleshpalya/Kaggadasapura main road traffic is notorious. Parking a car here is a challenge. Two-wheeler parking is manageable right in front, but for cars, you might have to hunt for a spot in the by-lanes. The Verdict. Roti Satkar is a dependable "Ghar-style" restaurant when you don't want to cook but want something comforting. It’s not for a romantic date, but for a wholesome family lunch or dinner, it hits the spot. Recommended for: Families, Vegetarians, and anyone craving hot Holige!
