We dined at ‘Rim Naam’ with our extended family- table of 10 to celebrate my daughter’s birthday and our arrival in Bangalore from Washington DC. While the ambiance and setting of the restaurant was serene and exceptional, the food and service was clearly subpar. One of my kids had food allergies and the chef kindly accommodated, which is why I have the 2-star review on food. Having said that, just because we placed the order for ‘allergen free food’ first followed by everything else, an assumption was made that my daughter and I would finish main course while my husband, father-in-law, aunts and uncles on the table would have not even placed the main course orders! We were not asked for a preference on how the food would arrive - everyone together, or on a more common appetizers and salads on table first. While 4 out of 10 people were vegetarian on the table noone initially mentioned that Prawn and Rice crackers were served till I pointed that and called it out. We love Thai food and have been fortunate to dine at some of the best restaurants across the globe and missed an Oberoi experience and the hype around the restaurant was not justified- we clearly expected more. Anyhow some of the food we ordered:. Food - appetizers/main course: Papaya Salad (make sure to mention about spice levels), prawn in rice wrappers - good, Kee Maw Noodles - good, Pad Thai - decent, Red curry - good, Jasmine Rice, Mushroom Appetizer- decent, Tom Yum and another coconut based soup. Dessert: Chilli Cheese Cake - disappointing. Dessert- complimentary: chocolate sponge cake with cherries and vanilla cream - good. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₹2,000+ Recommended dishes: Tiger Prawns, Red Thai Red Curry Jasmine Rice Pad Thai Noodles Vegetarian offerings: Vegetarian menu or section Dietary restrictions: Were accomodated
