Nestled on street number 477 in Puducherry, Richy Rich is primarily known as a dessert spot with a strong emphasis on ice cream. Although it’s not widely covered in popular restaurant directories, it does have a minimal profile on Zomato. Visitors often reminisce about their childhood visits to this quaint establishment, marking it as one of the earliest ice cream venues in the area. The ambiance is straightforward, reflecting its relaxed, self-service nature.
The dessert menu features notable items such as 'Death by Chocolate', a layered treat with chocolate sauce, praline, and nuts, highly favored by chocolate enthusiasts. Other popular offerings include the choco dip sundae adorned with chocolate chips, and a uniquely crafted kesar falooda blending ice cream, vermicelli, and nuts without fruit. While its primary focus is on desserts, Richy Rich also offers a selection of pizza, fast food, and street food.
Despite positive memories from those who visited years ago, updated insights from the owners or new visitor reviews are lacking, leaving potential customers with a four-year gap in firsthand feedback. Operating daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Richy Rich remains partially a mystery today, inviting curious locals and tourists to experience it afresh.
An ice cream shop I went to last when I was a child. Nostalgia hit me hard. So decided to try out this place once again.
Left the place with a full tummy and bright smile. Came here for dessert after lunch.
What I ordered :
1. Death by chocolate (a must try)
2. Choco dip sundae
3. Kesar Falooda (a must try)
Those who love chocolate flavour will definitely enjoy having the death by chocolate ice cream. Served in a glass - layered with praline, chocolate sauce and nuts - this was my favourite. A treat which can be had individually or shared among two people.
The choco dip sundae was really good as well. It’s choco vanilla ice cream topped with hard chocolate sauce and chocolate chips)
The kesar falooda was something unique. It had equal quantities of ice cream, vermicelli, nuts and sago making it the perfect falooda (does not contain fruit). The taste was different compared to the other faloodas I’ve had elsewhere. A must try indeed.
The ambience was simple. It’s a self service kind of place.
A must try ice cream place in Pondicherry. This was one of the first ice cream places to be established here.
