Dahi Poochka -Rs.80. Paneer Masala Dosa -Rs.170. Coffee -Rs.50 Regal Bites, Laban, Shillong South Indian, North Indian chaats, Chinese $$ 24.11.24 Today is another Sunday & well I decided to break my fast at 5:30pm & went out to search for food. I remember during the last Pujas, Regal Restaurant had put up a post of a new outlet in Laban so I went to check it out. On reaching I noticed that it was located in the same spot that Ann's Kitchen was when I visited it last year. Perhaps it has been sublet to Regal Restaurant. I entered inside & the place was okay. The steward came & handed me the menu. It was pretty simple. More like the mini menu of Regal which included the popular items. It had Chinese, North Indian snacks, Pizzas, South Indian; no Paper dosas though. I had not eaten in the last 21 hours & so was very hungry. My 1st pick was the Dahi Poochka, then a Paneer Masala Dosa with a cup of coffee to go with it. The order took 15mins to come. On my last visit to Regal I didn't have a pleasant experience when I ordered a Royal Mutton Thali but I was confident that they'll not mess up a dosa. The Dosa has been my favourite dish since I was 4 years old & perhaps it still is. Anyway this dosa looked a little rough on the edges & looked like it was roasted without oil (which is good for me) but still had a nice crisp to it. Inside it had a nice not so spicy potato masala with grated paneer. The dosa along with the sambhar & chutneys was filling & good. Next were the Dahi Poochkas. There were six pieces in a bowl & were also tasty. They had boiled potatoes but the boiled chole/chickpeas were missing so wasn't as good as the ones at Regal. The coffee was a machine one but decent & it came with a cookie. Overall a comforting meal. Instagram ID - kari.on.eats.
