The modern decor and comfortable ambiance let clients feel relaxed here. But people rate QUESTION MARK - TASTE OF KOLKATA below average on Google.
1. AMBIENCE - They have tried their level best to try to portray the true essence of life in West Bengal and they have done it rather beautifully. People would love the overall ambience for sure. 4/5 !!!
2. CLEANLINESS - Quite a neat, clean and tidy place but there is also ample scope for further improvement. For example, the areas leading to and in and around the wash basin could be cleaned up. 4/5 !!!
3. SERVICE - When we were placing an order for an authentic Bengali Mutton Thali, we were clearly told upfront that it would take significantly longer to deliver the Thali, as each and every item that accompanies the Thali were freshly prepared each time someone decided to order for a Thali. And, they indeed kept their promise - it took them ages to deliver the Thali. I should rather say that they should think of ways to speed up their service because whether they realize this or not, they serve at an extremely slow pace which, obviously is sorely undesirable. 3.75/5 !!!
4. STAFF MEMBERS - One of the owners and his friend were very friendly with us. We had a good friendly communication and that obviously makes every guest feel good. Otherwise also, the staff members were quite nice, polite, gentle, decent, friendly, amicable, helpful and caring guys. However, they (the staff members, I mean) should be more attentive and careful towards the needs and requirements of their guests/customers; they should learn to be more pro-active rather than being reactive and they should be more professional while talking to/dealing with/handling their guests/customers. 4.25/5 !!!
5. FOOD: -
A. TASTE - The food tasted quite good. However, my wife didn't quite like the MUTTON KOSHA and she felt that it didn't quite taste Bengali-like. She had let her disappointment known to the concerned persons as well. 3.75/5 !!!
B. QUALITY - Not bad at all and in fact, quite satisfactory, I would say; 4/5 !!!
C. QUANTITY - Quantity was an issue simply because they hadn't served in sufficient quantities.
D. PRESENTATION - Well, average, to say the least and there is obvious room for improvement; 3.25/5 !!!
E. PRICE - A bit on the higher side of things, I should say !!!
Also, worth mentioning over here is that they initially didn't even provide us with all the items that were mentioned as part of constituting the MUTTON THALI in their menu card. We had to literally call them up and ask/claim for those missing items and also came to know at that point of time that they wouldn't even be able to serve one item because that particular item was not present with them. We were, however, charged the full price !!!
My rating of a 4, out of a total of 5, for the food !!!
So, the conclusion now - if someone wishes that he/she wants a taste of the authentic Bengali cuisine over here at Pune, then 'QUESTION MARK - TASTE OF KOLKATA' is the place to visit and mark my words here !!! I really do mean it !!!
