True to its name, ‘Piquant’ is a tastefully curated property in the heart of the city, next to the Ganeshguri main road. The owners live in the same premise and hence the property is clean, well maintained & hygienic. There’s also a cute and aesthetic cafe corner on the ground floor. Expect cute instaworthy scenes amidst green flowers & creepers. The menu is not your usual Assamese variety of cuisine, you can enjoy a refreshing American breakfast and an exotic range of daily special desserts. It appears to be a passion project, so while the prices are a little high compared to Assam standards and income levels, it is designed to cater to a specific audience and the prices totally justify the service, food quality etc. The place is suitable for stays of families, people on work trips & quiet/decent adult couples who are not here to drink or party. You gotta be above 23 to stay here! Gates close at 10:30 so not suitable for the party crowd but if it’s a comfortable stay with all amenities like AC, clean towels, linen, electric kettle etc that you seek, then ‘Piquant’ is the place for you. The food was so bad. I went with my friend and we decided to have their mango shake. The shake was so sweet that we couldn’t even finish it. The prices are too high according to the food they are serving. We also had the Chicken and Mushroom granite which tasted like it was burnt.
