Food - Ordered Gyoza and Potato Jackets which were amazing. The gyoza turned out to be just like momo so was a bit disappointed lol but the taste was great. They had different sauce to accomodate all. Ordered peach tea and mojito which was mediocre. Service - service was slow and can be improved. Atmosphere - they have two seating space, one outdoor and one indoor. We were seated outside but as the evening progressed the mosquitos forced us inside. There were few books and drawings inside. True to its name, ‘Piquant’ is a tastefully curated property in the heart of the city, next to the Ganeshguri main road. The owners live in the same premise and hence the property is clean, well maintained & hygienic. There’s also a cute and aesthetic cafe corner on the ground floor. Expect cute instaworthy scenes amidst green flowers & creepers. The menu is not your usual Assamese variety of cuisine, you can enjoy a refreshing American breakfast and an exotic range of daily special desserts. It appears to be a passion project, so while the prices are a little high compared to Assam standards and income levels, it is designed to cater to a specific audience and the prices totally justify the service, food quality etc. The place is suitable for stays of families, people on work trips & quiet/decent adult couples who are not here to drink or party. You gotta be above 23 to stay here! Gates close at 10:30 so not suitable for the party crowd but if it’s a comfortable stay with all amenities like AC, clean towels, linen, electric kettle etc that you seek, then ‘Piquant’ is the place for you.
