Very old, narrow & congested street within Chandni chowk, this is famous due to the many food shops which majorly specialise in Paranthas. They offer a wide variety of Paranthas, most of which are deep fried usually in Desi Ghee. I personally find it overhyped, a nightmare to visit & most of the food is overhyped & costly. You can get better food at cheaper rates in good Dhabas & restaurants. i would say it's a one time go. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

Paranthe Wali Gali, nestled in the heart of Chandni Chowk in Old Delhi, is a legendary street known for its delicious and unique variety of stuffed parathas (Indian flatbreads). This iconic culinary destination has been serving food lovers for over a century and remains a must-visit for anyone exploding Delhi's rich food heritage. Highlights of Paranthe Wali Gali: 1. Variety of Parathas: The street offers an array of stuffed parathas made with fillings like potato, cauliflower, radish, lentils, paneer, dry fruits, and even innovative options like bananas or rabri. These parathas are fried in ghee, giving them a rich, crispy texture. 2. Historical Legacy: Many of the shops here are family-run businesses, some dating back to the late 19th century. The recipes and cooking techniques have been passed down through generations. 3. Accompaniments: The parathas are served with a selection of side dishes such as tangy tamarind chutney, spicy pickles, mint chutney, and a variety of sabzis (vegetables), along with a cooling yogurt or raita. 4. Vegetarian Delight: Most of the shops are strictly vegetarian, catering to the preferences of the local community and visitors alike. 5. Affordable Prices: Despite its fame, the food is reasonably priced, making it accessible to everyone. 6. Authentic Experience: The narrow, bustling lane adds to the charm, providing an authentic old Delhi vibe with its crowded streets, aromas of frying parathas, and friendly shopkeepers. Tips for Visiting: Best Time: Late morning or early afternoon to avoid the heavy crowds. Exploration: Pair your visit with a walk through Chandni Chowk to experience other iconic spots like the Red Fort and Jama Masjid. Stay Light: Avoid heavy meals before visiting, as the parathas can be quite filling. Paranthe Wali Gali is not just a food destination; it’s a slice of Delhi’s history and culture, offering a delightful gastronomic experience for locals and tourists alike.
