A heritage place to visit. The tea along with bun maska is a must try. And while in pune, one should not mis out on it. The chicken keema and the parathas go hand in hand and complement the taste. The parathas are a bit oily. But the taste and the flavor make it worth to try at least once. A very old Irani restaurant on Karve Road. Here you get good Irani style chai ani Bun Mhaska. You will get other stuff too, but it is known for its chai and bun mhaska. This place used to take me to the nostalgia when I was a kid and used to roam around with my dad on Sunday mornings. Cafes like these were empty. People use to occupy one table, order breakfast & tea and sit for long hours reading newspaper. It was slow, calm and relaxed view. The typical marble top tables, heavy wooden art deco styled chairs were a part of the decor in these cafes. Cafe Paradise has renovated themselves during the lockdown time. New signage is up, walls look brighter. The old dark yet friendly corners are vanished. But the chai and bun mhaska tastes the same. I liked the way they have retained the old electrical switches and fan regulators. That reminds now of the legacy of Cafe Paradise.
