At Pancharatna , Taj Getway AMBAD, Nasik
Starting with a perfect "Sanga" - fried dried sago papad, with "thecha" - green chilly chutney & coconut- garlic-groundnut dried powder/chutney
Followed by Jowar bhakri- Maharashtrian roasted bread with tup/ghee, Khandeshi mutton- deliciously soft & perfectly spiced, green gravy chicken, pithle- a basic dish , "Karachi anti" - can't describe this curry, which is so elaborate, that the current gen has stopped cooking it, and only mom's could do it right- but here the chef got tips from Mom's, "Martha" aka spiced chhas or aka Kuchi beer, dahi not yogurt, Amarakhand- mango flavoured sweet hung curd, pullao.
Felt guilty that couldn't ask the table attendant to pack up the leftovers nor could finish it all.
After all you don't get such a perfect Maharashtrian meal often
To summarize: A trip to Nasik only to eat this thali is worth the drive.
The seating arrangement is comfortable, the best fine dine option for Maharashtrian and North Indian food.
