A warning to all foreigners — the restaurant doesn’t accept Apple wallet cards, foreign debit or credit cards. I thought I might get some lunch here rather than Pizza Hut next door — I had mom’s debit card to save the day. One of the day’s specials was a Chicken Ghee Roast — I pictured well cooked chicken with the aroma of ghee wafting through. So I went ahead and ordered rice, buttermilk, a kholapuri veggie curry and the Chicken Ghee Roast. The kholapuri had the flavours right — but had potatoes in it. Potatoes aren’t a vegetable. So I left all the potatoes for them to take away. The chicken had no ghee flavour and was instead more of a chettinad-styled thick gravy roast. It was nice, but certainly had nothing to do with ghee. The buttermilk was excellent — I had three glasses full of it. Not a bad place for food — not the best either. They do bring you a finger bowl to rinse your fingers — I ate with the cutlery, but I do appreciate that nice touch. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ₹800–1,000 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4 Vegetarian offerings: Large vegetarian selection Vegetarian options: They think potatoes are vegetables — watch out for annoying potatoes in veggie dishes.

Palki is a good restaurant for a nice meal . The service is good , food is okay and overall ambience is fine . This is more of a routine family restaurant for an economical meal . With food , we ordered two veg gravies (mix veg and paneer ) and both felt the same and tasted pretty okay ! Chicken dishes again use a similar base and lacked uniqueness! Breads are good and served pretty promptly. Service is definitely good with very humble servers who are quick to attend and serve ! The place looks renovated , interiors are good , bathrooms are clean and well maintained . Overall this was my second visit , but I will visit again as well .
