I stopped by Pakodewala at Subhash Rd drawn by its reputation as a legendary snack spot in Nagpur, supposedly serving delicious pakodas for over 70 years. The place is a bustling, no-frills joint, tucked in the busy Sitabuldi market, and it’s clearly a local favorite with a steady crowd. I tried their famous moong dal pakoda and sambarwadi, expecting something extraordinary given the hype. Honestly, it was just okay. The pakodas were decent but not as crispy or flavorful as I’d hoped, and the sambarwadi felt a bit greasy and lacked the punch I was craving. The chutney was alright but didn’t elevate the experience. For a place with such a big name, I didn’t find anything particularly special to justify the buzz.
