Overhyped and Disappointing – Not Worth the Hype After watching Luke Nguyen’s glowing review of Shivajinagar Gardi Ustad Pehlwan Kale Bhai’s Pahilwani Handi, I was excited to try what was promised to be an incredible discovery. Unfortunately, my experience was far from what was shown in the video. The place lacks basic cleanliness. The cooking area is far from sanitary, with food being handled in ways that would make anyone think twice before eating. The utensils and surroundings felt unkempt. If you have a sensitive stomach, this is not the place for you. Taste – Far From Special. Given the hype, I expected a burst of flavor and slow-cooked richness. Instead, the mutton biryani (priced at an exorbitant Rs. 300) was overly oily, with an overpowering amount of Garlic . I’ve had far better handi-style dishes at lesser-known places in Bangalore. Why Did Luke Nguyen Love It?. Im not sure. Money plays a big role. The reality for regular customers, however, is often different. What looked like a “hidden gem” in the video didn’t hold up when experienced firsthand. Final Verdict. If you’re going here based on Luke Nguyen’s video or any other instagram influencer , lower your expectations. The reality doesn’t match the hype, and hygiene concerns make it a risky choice.
