I stayed at Paarli Dhara and it felt like discovering a sanctuary in Bir. I lived in one of their private rooms (they have 3 in total, along with bunk beds for solo travellers), and I was amazed by how lavish and thoughtfully detailed the rooms are, luxurious yet soulful, minimal, environment friendly, with every corner radiating comfort and warmth. The food here is an experience in itself, everything is grown organically on their farm and served fresh to the table. It’s wholesome, nourishing, and made with so much love. Pair that with the stunning sunsets and the sight of paragliders dancing across the valley of Bir, and you realize just how magical this place really is. What touched me most was the people. Swati and Anil are incredible hosts, so warm and genuine, but also the local women they’ve employed as part of their staff. These ladies are polite, sweet, and friendly, and it’s heartwarming to see Paarli Dhara create opportunities for the local community while offering guests such an authentic experience. Swati also conducts beautiful mud sculpting and art workshops that let you play, create, and reconnect with your inner child in ways most of us forget in our busy lives. Paarli Dhara is not just a stay, it’s a reflection of life’s beauty. A place to slow down, to share moments with loved ones, or to simply be with yourself and feel at peace. A must go, when in Bir. If you're looking for a break from touristy trails and cookie-cutter stays, this mountain retreat is a breath of fresh air—both literally and metaphorically. Tucked away from the noise, it's a place where time slows down and nature speaks in quiet, powerful ways. The setting is naturally stunning, with crisp mountain air and sweeping views that instantly ground you. But the true magic lies in how beautifully the space has been conceptualized. Every corner reflects thoughtfulness—minimal, earthy design, handpicked materials, and a sense of calm that feels intentional, not accidental. The hosts are the heart of the experience. Warm, intuitive, and genuinely welcoming, they’ve poured their soul into creating something that’s more than just a stay. Their hospitality is subtle yet sincere—always present when needed, yet respectful of your space. From the moment you arrive, you're made to feel not just accommodated, but truly cared for. This isn’t a place for everyone. If you're after loud crowds, round-the-clock service, or checklist sightseeing, you might be better off elsewhere. But if you travel to pause, to reflect, and to connect—with yourself, your companions, or nature—this place will feel like home. Perfect for small groups, creative souls, or anyone seeking a more meaningful escape, this retreat offers something rare: peace, beauty, and authenticity in equal measure. Service: 5

Must experience this beautiful Mud house in Bir! Situated on a quiet hill top outside the hustle and bustle of the main city this property offers a great view of Dhauladhar mountain range. Everything here has been beautifully curated by very talented architect and musician who are also your hosts Swati and Anil.. P.S. their pancakes are to die for, must try them all!! Service: 5
