As a Turkish man in a foreign country and especially in traditional Chennai/Tamil Nadu I was surprised to find an authentic Turkish Baklava and Künefe (yes, that’s the correct spelling in Turkish). The owner family is very friendly and tries always to improve and also to assure that vegan people can have their sweets without doubts. In a city where you don’t get the original ingredients and have to examine to get the right consistency and taste and have also to avoid some ingredients to comply with vegan food rules it is unbelievable how they managed to create authentic bakes. Since I’m in Chennai I go there regularly and I was never disappointed . People complaining about e.g. the Künefe with too much cheese but no Pistachios must have been somewhere else. The Künefe is full of pistachios.
