From your way to nainital from kathgodam you will find this little eatery just beside the road,the environment is enveloped with nature.the pace is bit crowded and you May have to wait for 10-15 minutes. Remember this place serve only mutton and rice nothing else. The taste of the mutton is unique no enriched spice but a simple unique taste. The most comparable dish I can recommend is a Bengali dish কচি পাঁঠার ঝোল (stew of a goat aged 6-7 months). If you want to order extra you have to take minimum 4 pieces of mutton. If you're anywhere near Nainital or passing through the Smanora Range, Chandan Meat Rice Dhaba is an absolute must-stop. I tried their mutton rice locally known as Shikaar Bhaat, and it was hands down one of the most flavorful meals I’ve had in a long time. The mutton was tender, perfectly spiced, and paired beautifully with the simple, aromatic rice. It reminded me of home-cooked Kumaoni flavors, rich with tradition and heart. The place itself is humble, with outdoor seating and a no-frills vibe, but the food more than makes up for it. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
