My husband and I went to this place we've been visiting for over 25 years, since our college days. It was a Saturday night, and as expected, it was crowded. We were standing in a corner, enjoying the music. My husband wasn't drinking, I had a gin in hand. A few drunk people were dancing too close for comfort and showing little regard for personal space. After a man bumped into me many times, we politely asked him to keep his distance. He got defensive and started pointing his finger at us, escalating the situation. Despite my husband being completely sober and calm, this man became aggressive. I told him to stop pointing his finger at me and reminded him we could do the same if we wanted to. Then, out of nowhere, the bouncer came over and insisted we leave the club. Yes, you read that right—*we* were asked to leave, even though we were the ones who had been disrespected by the drunk man. If you're planning to enjoy a night out with your partner, be aware that if a drunk person invades your space, the bouncers might turn the situation around and ask *you* the LADY at the receiving end, to leave. It's completely unacceptable. Clubs need to train their staff on how to handle situations like this better, and not penalize the people who are simply trying to enjoy a peaceful night. We were the ones who were disrespected, yet we were the ones told to go. Very disappointing. Though the manager came and tried to rescue the situation stopping us from leaving and asking us to move to a different space, the mood had already been ruined, and we just chose to leave instead. On toes, train your bouncers to handle the situation in a better way. Never ask the lady to leave when she has been at the receiving end of unwanted physical contact by drunk men.
