We had Portugese prawn gravy with rice, egg sandwich with fresh orange juice and all of it was wonderful. The place is surrounded by greenery and has a very calming vibe. Had a great time. Thanks! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Portuguese Prawn Curry

This place was one of the main highlights of my Diu visit. I went there for dinner on the first day of the trip with a burning itch to finally get my hands on some proper seafood. The ambience of the place is very earthy and cozy. The dining space is adorned with lots of plants and creepers and it really has a homely environment to it. The Chef, Kailash Pandey and their partner helped with the menu and gave a lip smacking dish of fried mackerels and portugese style prawn curry with rice. The smell of the fried fish emanating from their kitchen had me so excited and lowkey gave me that Ratatouille-esque flashback of me waiting for my mum to come with her dish of fried fish for supper. The fish was wonderfully fried, the masala tasted really good and the most important thing, the fish was fresh. The portugese style prawn curry was equally good, although i felt that maybe that curry would go better with kerala style appams instead of rice. Right after my first bite, i had decided that i would be visiting the place again the next day for lunch. I really gotta thank Chef Pandey and their partner for being so gracious enough to have served me with their wonderful food even though I turned up at their place for lunch really late. And again, their food was as appetizing as it was the previous night. The prawn masala was so good. The freshness of the fish and prawns that they use is commendable. I would recommend this place for everyone who plans on visiting Diu. O'Coqueiro serves outstanding cuisines, and caters to almost every taste palette. And ofcoz this place is a goldmine for people who need to satiate their seafood cravings. The hosts are wonderful people and really makes the place feel like home with their demeanor and ofcoz through the tasty dishes they serve. I will be visiting this place again, and again, and again... O Coqueiro is a restaurant which is off location but at a walking distance from St. Paul' Church. Google location is accurate. To write about the food served, it is an absolute delight. We went as a family of four food loving people and ordered from the house menu. For us it was King prawns with salad, fish with finger chips and salad, veg penne in white sauce and prawns fried rice. The preparation, presentation and ingredients are top notch. Basically it is a small eatery run by a family and you should have patience to bear with the time they take for serving you. Absolutely recommended! Service: Dine in Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
