A close friend who owns a homestay at Kodaikanal told me he'd take me to a hidden gem for non vegetarian food... And we landed at Nurmas for lunch. We had Chicken Biryani (served with Dalcha and Onion Raita), and Pepper Chicken on the side. Made with Jeeraga Samba rice, the biryani was bang on! The meal was served on a banana leaf, adding to the experience, aroma, and taste. The Pepper Chicken was wonderfully tawa roasted with onions, tomatoes and spices, lending a caramelized roasted top to the chicken pieces... Delicious! For those who care, there is a complimentary portion of rice and rasam after... My friend opted for it.. I was done beyond full after just the Biryani and Pepper chicken. My friend paid the bill... ₹500 for a scrumptious lunch... I see myself coming back here whenever in Kodaikanal!
