One the best onion Dosas we have tasted! The side dishes of many varieties ranging from Cashew Chutney, Coconuts, peanuts,Pudhina, Malli etc. were very tasty! Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3 Price per person: ₹1–200 Recommended dishes: Idly, Appam, Dosai Recommendation for vegetarians: Highly recommend Vegetarian offerings: Menu is all vegetarian Vegetarian options: Varieties of Chutnies add to the fun!

I’ve been a regular at Ninaivootum Idly Kadai and have always loved the homely vibe, delicious idlis with 25 types of chutneys, and the live dosa and appam counters with coconut milk. The food quality is still superb, and it feels like home-cooked comfort food. However, the recent price hike of 50–80% across the menu, especially the uniform ₹50 pricing for all dosas (including plain dosa), feels unfair to loyal customers. The owner mentioned this was to address customers misreporting orders (e.g., paying for plain dosa instead of onion dosa), but this approach penalizes those who genuinely order plain dosas.I’d suggest implementing a clearer order tracking system, like tokens or chits, to ensure accurate billing without affecting honest customers. The buffet and live counters are still a highlight, but the pricing change makes it feel more business-driven than service-oriented. I hope the management reconsiders this to maintain the charm that made this place special. Still a great spot for South Indian food, but the pricing needs a fairer approach.
