Dishes of Chinese cuisine can be ordered at this restaurant. Ordering good roast beef, chicken and gat is a nice experience here. Many guests note that the staff is hospitable at New Kerala Mess. This place offers an authentic homemade kitchen vibe with a cozy in-dining experience that feels like eating at home. Despite its simplicity, the restaurant operates at full capacity most of the time, which speaks volumes about its popularity and value. Food Experience The food here is incredibly affordable, with side dishes starting at just ₹120. I tried the chicken, poth (buff), and prawns, and each dish was delicious, soft, and packed with balanced spiciness, staying true to authentic Kerala flavors. The use of spices and ingredients unmistakably reflects the essence of Kerala cuisine. The meals include a choice of Kerala red rice or white rice, complemented by an array of accompaniments such as: Two types of buttermilk curry (Kerala-style and ordinary), A vegetable dish, Pickle, Papadam, Sambar (rich with vegetables and authentic Kerala-style), Rasam, which was extraordinary in flavor. The best part? Unlimited meals for just ₹80, making this place unbeatable in terms of value for money. Ambiance and Service I had a chance to interact with the kitchen staff, who happen to be a family running the entire operation. Their hospitality and warmth enhance the overall experience. It's heartwarming to see a family working together to bring such delicious food to the table. However, I do feel they could benefit from hiring young and hospitable staff to welcome and manage customers better, enhancing the overall dining experience.
