Dishes of Chinese cuisine can be ordered at this restaurant. Ordering good roast beef, chicken and gat is a nice experience here. Many guests note that the staff is hospitable at New Kerala Mess. Nice service is something visitors like here. It's an opportunity for you to enjoy the pretty atmosphere. But google users rated this place and it didn't gain a high rating.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Kerala Mess, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. This place offers an authentic homemade kitchen vibe with a cozy in-dining experience that feels like eating at home. Despite its simplicity, the restaurant operates at full capacity most of the time, which speaks volumes about its popularity and value. Food Experience The food here is incredibly affordable, with side dishes starting at just ₹120. I tried the chicken, poth (buff), and prawns, and each dish was delicious, soft, and packed with balanced spiciness, staying true to authentic Kerala flavors. The use of spices and ingredients unmistakably reflects the essence of Kerala cuisine. The meals include a choice of Kerala red rice or white rice, complemented by an array of accompaniments such as: Two types of buttermilk curry (Kerala-style and ordinary), A vegetable dish, Pickle, Papadam, Sambar (rich with vegetables and authentic Kerala-style), Rasam, which was extraordinary in flavor. The best part? Unlimited meals for just ₹80, making this place unbeatable in terms of value for money. Ambiance and Service I had a chance to interact with the kitchen staff, who happen to be a family running the entire operation. Their hospitality and warmth enhance the overall experience. It's heartwarming to see a family working together to bring such delicious food to the table. However, I do feel they could benefit from hiring young and hospitable staff to welcome and manage customers better, enhancing the overall dining experience. Feedback for Improvement Recover your Google Account: Competitors have been flooding the page with fake negative reviews, which is unethical and could harm your reputation. Regaining control is crucial. Expand Menu Options: Consider including Kerala delicacies like Pullishery, Elisherry, Manga Chammanthi, and Avial as part of special lunch offerings priced at ₹100. Enhance Flavor: Adding fried coconut (thenga varuthu cherkanam) to dishes like prawns, chicken, and buff would elevate the taste even further. Marketing Potential: You are located in a prime spot and have huge potential to grow. Focus on: Listing your restaurant on Zomato and Swiggy to boost brand awareness and sales. Introducing subscription options for regular customers to manage inventory and ensure consistent demand. Facility Improvements: Including bottled drinking water would enhance the customer experience. Final Thoughts Kerala Mess is a hidden gem that's currently underrated but has immense potential. While competitors like Kerala Camboose and Thalassery Kitchen rank high for Kerala cuisine in the OMR area, they charge hefty prices. Kerala Mess, on the other hand, provides equally authentic and delicious food at just 1/3rd of the cost, making it a prime choice for affordable Kerala cuisine. With some focused improvements in menu, service, and marketing, Kerala Mess could truly shine and become the go-to destination for authentic Kerala food in the region. My overall experience was wonderful, and I highly recommend this place for its incredible food, affordability, and homely vibe. ---- Kerala Mess - Summary Kerala Mess offers a home-cooked restaurant experience. A full meal is available at ₹80 and side dishes start at ₹120. The chicken, bhod, and prawn dishes are delicious, tender, and full of authentic Kerala flavor. Development Tips: Add foods like pulisheri, avial. Roast coconut (Tenga Abtu) and add it to side dishes. Boost popularity with services including Zomato/Swiggy. This is one of the best Kerala restaurants at affordable prices! Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ₹200–400 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Non Veg Meals
