I heard about this restaurant from a friend who lives in Ashiana locality of Lucknow. This outlet is in the same area near Power House market. As the name suggests we went there to grab mutton in the hope that we will get something tasty and delicious. We ordered Mutton Do Pyaza, fish tikka, tandoori roti. Before this we had half plate of chicken lollipop too. The service is good and food arrived without much wait. To be frank, we were tired after a long drive and didn't want our food to arrive that fast, we wanted to give time to our dinner. I visited this outlet once again after one month. Impressed with their fish preparation we once again ordered fish tikka. This was followed by chicken kaali mirch and roomali roti. As usual time taken in serving the food was less than expected. However, this time we gave a miss to mutton this time. Though the name of this outlet is Beera Mutton I found most people were ordering chicken dishes. I too did the same in my second visit. The fish tikka was best. Tender pieces of boneless fish were served with marinated onion rings. Excellent, I must say. The only regret is that slices were too small. One full plate would suffice for two persons only. Mutton was not outstanding. If a restaurant is offering more than half a dozen mutton dishes how do you expect it to prepare exclusive dishes. Mutton, obviously, is not easy to cook. The Kali Mirch chicken was okay but not outstanding. The dish, in white gravy, was a little more salty, a little more hot (chilli ) but without the good aroma of black pepper. Overall, good, delightful dinner in a fine atmosphere though the inside staff is little more talkative, keeps moving up and down frequently which disturbs the guests while they are eating. Somehow I got a feeling of hush-hush. The staff was quick to remove plates as soon as they found it empty, there was a hurry for billing even though I was having last bite and had made clear we don't have anything more to order. While I was washing my hands the bill arrived on the table. I felt awkward to sit back again and check the details and finish the payments. The dining area too is small and a lot of tables have been adjusted which makes it overcrowded when full to the capacity. SUGGESTION: When you name the outlet for mutton then do justice. Cook a couple of dishes but make them like none other. Mutton requires a lot of time and patience. When you start serving huge variety of mutton dishes how can you claim to churn exclusive dishes. Slow cooking with whole spices is the basic of making mutton and I missed it here. We visited this outlet in winters and were 'unpleasantly surprised' to find airconditioner running. Despite our request it could not be turned off. This turned off our charm for hot food. They had their own reasons but at the end our food got cold in no time. Even though we complained it went unheard and the manager kept laughing with his own irrelevant arguments as if we were asking for something stupid. I shall definitely not visit this place in the winters. Visit this place in Ashiana locality of Lucknow, near Power House, if you are looking for non vegetarian food in good atmosphere.
