Spent a lovely impromptu evening at Nege & Ju. We reached early around 7.45 pm, so the restaurant was not so busy. Music was slightly loud, but not so loud as to impair conversation. We ordered a selection of small plates - California sushi rolls, chicken and mushroom tacos, peanut chicken, and grilled prawn skewers. Sushi, prawns and tacos were excellent, but the peanut chicken was quite average. The show stopper was the Miso Black Cod. It was undoubtedly the dish of the evening. It is not an easy dish to get right and I must give kudos to the chef for absolutely nailing the dish. It was just perfect !! We also ordered spare ribs. The sauce had a great sweet tangy taste, and quality of meat was very good. By about 10 pm, the restaurant was buzzing and had a different vibe. The music picked up pace and the lighting changed, and the whole place looked entirely like a different restaurant. Brilliant execution. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. I must add that the service was impeccable !!
