The Public Relations Team Nara Thai On December 9th, we hosted our friend from Singapore at your BKC restaurant along with two other Indian friends. We placed an order for a Rose White Wine Bottle. The attendant brought us the most expensive wine bottle, priced at Rs.19,500 without presenting other options. Typically, a wine bottle in high-end restaurants ranges between Rs. 3,000 to 5,000. There clearly were 5 to 6 Rose Wine options by the Bottle ranging from Rs. 3,000 to Rs 19,500. She took an independent decision of selecting the most expensive bottle on the menu. We do not accept this and treat it as A DELIBERATE ACT. Additionally, our Singaporean guest was wrongly blamed for the order, when she was not the one who placed the order and did not even understand english well. We do not accept this and are HIGHLY EMBARRASSED. More so, the attendant was from the start very careless in serving us. She had forgotten to serve two starter dishes which she very casually stated that - Oh they are on the way. We do not accept this as this was extremely RECKLESS on her part. We offered to resolve the issue by paying an average of Rs 6,000 for the wine bottle, double the cost of the least expensive Rose wine option on the menu. We were ready to pay despite no fault of ours. However, our suggestions to resolve the matter were DECLINED at all times. After 45 minutes of back and forth, the Manager proposed a deal - where they waived the food portion cost (Rs.6,000) and charged for the wine bottle (Rs.19,500). Not having an option and not wanting to stretch the matter further, we agreed despite yet having to pay way extra even to the next best option available at Rs. 7,000. We ourselves reside in Singapore and wanted to display India's warmth, culture and hospitality to our Singaporean friend. Sadly, it turned out to be a highly disappointing experience. The staff at Nara Thai BKC not only cheated us but also LET DOWN the reputation of our country yesterday. I have attached our bill for your reference. We request you to refund the extra payment of Rs10,000 which we were compelled to pay. Unfortunately, we will stop recommending Nara Thai to Mumbai residents and shall alert them about the unfair practices carried out by your staff. Appreciate your quick response in this matter.
