Of all the 'bhavans' I've been to, this has been the worst. I usually love south indian food but was terribly disappointed with this one. The sambar tasted stale and the dosa was cold. And don't get me started on the hygiene. The plate that was served to us contained bits of curry-rice stuck under it. The tables looked like they hadn't been cleaned in ages.
And here's the worst part.. They actually had the audacity to write this on their wall: "ask not what you can do for your country. Ask what is for lunch". This might seem humorous to some but if I had served in the defence and stepped inside to read this, I would be absolutely livid.
Once again.. On the food, I don't expect exceptional service from a restaurant like this but I have been to far cheaper places and was served far better food.

Vasanta Bhavan has, surprisingly enough, become my favourite place to go to when we visit Phoenix Market City. Being a South Indian, I usually can't stand coming out to eat South Indian food, but where else can you feed three starving people for 218 rupees, taxes included?! I love the Paneer 65 dosa and the chilli parotta here, as well as the mango milkshake. My only (teensy) issue with this branch of VB is that you don't get the item you want a lot of the time. Nonetheless, definitely one of my favourite places in Chennai.

Worst service ever.. The waiter took ages to come and take the order and also only few options were available ..I would highly recommend to avoid this place ... I would rate it below 1 .. Ashique Manikfan
