The staff is cute that's what makes this restaurant so good. Spectacular service is something visitors agree upon here. When you enter this place, you feel the comfortable atmosphere.
Very good place for a nice bite. The smoked beef with bamboo shoot and rice is a definite recommendation from me. The food is well made, the cook is polite. I think there's been an increase in price lately but it's still worth it. Some of the best smoked beef in the city is found here. The local river it's situated near is the only downside as somedays it may stink up the place because it is highly polluted. Rice with Smoked Pork & Bamboo Shoot - Rs.270/- Naga Food, near Bethany Hospital, Shillong Naga Cuisine (Sema) $$$ 31.01.24 After a 5 day hiatus, I'm out & about looking for a place to eat. I happened to be near Bethany Hospital so thought I should give the Naga Food eatery a try. I honestly did not expect much. The shop is located at a below the road level & seemed to be popular. It's a small little basic eatery & just like the signboard read, serves Naga food. I asked the lady, who was doing everything, what tribe was this from & she replied Sema tribe. There was one proper table & wall benched tables on two sides. It was self service as the lady was functioning alone. I ordered myself a Rice with Smoked Pork & Bamboo Shoot Thali which was 270 bucks. I also realized that there are quite a handful of restaurants in Shillong serving Naga food & majority of these places I have visited are also doing pretty well. Anyway my order did come after 10mins, which strangely felt long. It had a plate of semi-sticky red hill variety of rice which goes perfectly with this sort of food, then a bowl having 3pcs of smoked pork with fresh bamboo shoot (there was no Sichuan pepper added), a bowl of dal, a bowl of boiled cabbage, long beans & carrots, a bowl of spicy fried karela & beans & chilli chutney. The smoked pork unlike the other Sema restaurant at Lad Smit, The Naga Plate was not hard & chewy. It was smoked very well & the meat was soft & tasty. Even the fat portion was good. The dal was light. The boiled veggies all still had a nice crunch & even the fried veggies were very tasty. I did not ask for extra helpings, so I'm not sure if this is a refill thali or not. Overall it was much better than what I had expected. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ₹200–400 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
