I tried the NMR Chicken Biryani here, which costs ₹145. Taste-wise, it didn't stand out much for me. The spiciness was quite high, which might not be for everyone. NMR is one of the oldest restaurants for those who love Rawuther Biriyani. Located in Palakkad, this restaurant has several branches in the area, but we visited the oldest one for lunch. It’s situated near the road, though parking can be a bit tricky due to limited space. Since it was lunchtime, the restaurant was slightly crowded, but we were quickly welcomed by the friendly owner with a warm smile, who helped us find a seat. The moment we entered, the irresistible aroma of Biriyani filled the air, teasing our senses. The ambience of the restaurant gives off a traditional, old-house feel rather than a modern concrete building, which adds to its charm. We decided to try the Rawuther Chicken Biriyani, which was served on a banana leaf alongside a side of salad, lemon, pickles, and gravy. The chicken was perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful, making the Biriyani a delightful experience. Overall, the Biriyani was great for those who enjoy Rawuther-style Biriyani. However, don’t expect a five-star restaurant setup; it’s a simple, traditional spot with a homey vibe. If you're looking for authentic Biriyani in a casual, no-frills setting, NMR is definitely worth a visit!
