After a walk around Amrita School of Medicine, many visitors stop by Mrinal's Deli. You can order nicely cooked chicken cutlets, chicken and biryani. Great masala chai, coffee or juice are worth trying here.

I’ve been here many times and I’m a regular customer. We absolutely love the biriyani — it’s just like authentic Malabar Kozhikode Dum Biriyani. The chicken is tender, and the masala has that real, traditional flavor — not like the yellow, high-masala biriyanis you usually find in Kochi. This one has that beautiful brown color and perfect balance of spices, just like the biriyani I used to enjoy at select hotels in Kozhikode. Truly appreciate Hungry Mrinal for keeping the authenticity alive. Another thing I really like is their billing concept — you only pay for what you choose. For example, since I don’t prefer raita, I don’t have to pay for it unnecessarily. That’s a great idea! The tea and snacks are also really good. We’ve tried many of their chicken dishes and other items — all consistently tasty. Parking has also become more convenient now, with a proper parking space opened right in front of the hotel. The staff are friendly, polite, and provide excellent service. Highly recommend this place for anyone who loves real Malabar-style food! I usually visit with my family — it’s a very children-friendly place. They have some games, toys, and small play options to keep kids engaged, which makes dining here even more enjoyable.
