We had a very disappointing experience at Mitron, Thane We booked a Lunch Buffet for 2 guests through District. As frequent diners, we know that restaurants usually call and confirm bookings or inform in case of any changes or unavailability. Unfortunately, we did not receive any such call. When we arrived, we were informed at the reception that the buffet was not available and instead we would be served a “flying buffet” at the table. However, the staff serving us had no idea about this. Despite repeatedly explaining that we had booked a buffet, he kept insisting that only à la carte was available. We had to request him to check with the manager. After some time, the manager came and confirmed the flying buffet, but mentioned that tandoor items like roti and naan were unavailable due to a cylinder shortage. Surprisingly, we noticed another table being served rotis . On top of that, we were told that the District discount would not be applicable—something that was never communicated earlier. The lack of coordination and clarity among the staff was quite frustrating. The food service was slow and inconsistent. We were restricted to selecting only one item from the flying buffet menu, which was very disappointing. In the mains, we ordered Butter Chicken—honestly, it was a nightmare . It did not taste like Butter Chicken at all, and we couldn’t even eat it. We ended up returning the untouched rice as well. For desserts, options were extremely limited. The Biscoff Cheesecake was unavailable, and we were only offered brownies. What we received was a very small portion—barely a bite-sized brownie with a little ice cream . It was so underwhelming that we didn’t even think of taking a photo. When we requested an additional serving, the staff refused, saying only one round was allowed, even though we had booked for two people. This was quite unreasonable. What was most disappointing was the lack of service recovery and the indifferent attitude of the staff throughout the experience. Overall, it was a very poorly managed and unsatisfactory experience. As someone from the hospitality industry, I believe these are basic service standards that need serious attention. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3 Price per person: ₹2,000+
